2. Data processing when visiting the website

When fajo.app is accessed, technically necessary connection data is processed so that the website can be delivered in a stable and secure manner. This may include, in particular, the IP address, date and time of access, page accessed, amount of data transferred, referrer, and information about the browser and operating system.

The processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure provision of the website, error analysis and protection against misuse.

3. No analytics or marketing trackers on the website

We currently do not use analytics or marketing trackers on the public Fajo website to create personal usage profiles for advertising.

4. Contact enquiries

If you contact us by email, we process the information you provide in order to handle your enquiry. This regularly includes your email address, your name, your message and, where applicable, any further information you voluntarily provide.

Depending on the reason for the enquiry, processing is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

5. Use of the Fajo app

Fajo can partly be used without an account. In that case, content generally remains on your device unless shared or server-supported features are used.

If you use Fajo with an account, sharing or synchronization, we process the data required to operate the app. This includes in particular your email address and optionally a display name, lists, list items and content created by you, invitation and login tokens for sharing and authentication, and technical metadata such as timestamps and unique IDs for synchronization.

Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where it is necessary to provide Fajo, and otherwise on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for the secure and reliable development of the service.

6. Hosting and technical service providers

We use technical service providers only where this is necessary for hosting, operation, email delivery or security. Where personal data is processed on our behalf, this is done on the basis of a data processing agreement or another legally permissible basis under data protection law.

We use a virtual server from IONOS to host the website and backend. In this context, connection and server log data in particular may be processed where necessary for operation, stability and security.

Further information from IONOS is available in the IONOS privacy policy at https://www.ionos.de/terms-gtc/datenschutzerklaerung/.

7. AI processing for voice input with OpenAI

If you use voice input in Fajo, voice recordings and the texts generated from them may be transmitted to OpenAI. This is done solely to convert spoken input into text and to derive suitable app actions or function calls from it.

Only the content required for the respective voice feature is processed, for example the voice recording, the transcript and the instruction needed for execution. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where processing is necessary for the feature requested by you, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for providing user-friendly voice input.

According to OpenAI documentation, data submitted via the API is not used for model training by default unless there is an explicit opt-in. OpenAI also states that API data may be logged for abuse and security checks depending on the endpoint.

Depending on the technical configuration, processing may also take place outside the European Union or the EEA. Unless we use specifically configured EU data residency, processing in third countries, in particular the United States, cannot be ruled out.

Further information from OpenAI is available at https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/guides/your-data.

8. Storage period

We store personal data only for as long as it is necessary for the respective purposes or statutory retention obligations apply. Technical website data is usually kept only for a short period. Contact enquiries are stored until processing has been completed. Account data and content in Fajo are stored until you have your account deleted or remove the data yourself.

9. Your rights

Within the limits of statutory requirements, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection to certain processing activities.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. For all privacy-related questions, a message to kontakt@fajo.app is sufficient.

10. Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data. Transmission between the browser or app and our systems is encrypted.
